How to Remove Plantar Warts on Feet

Before you begin treatment of any kind, it’s important to learn a little bit about what you’re dealing with. The same goes for plantar wart removal. Remember, it’s usually best to talk to your doctor before getting started with any particular technique. You can’t be too careful, especially about your health.

To be clear, warts are caused by the Human Papillomavirus. The virus makes it’s way into the skin through cuts in the skin. People can contract the warts virus by coming into direct skin on skin contact with someone else who has warts. Moist or damp environments often contain the HPV virus. This means you can also contract warts if your skin touches an infected surface area.

Given that warts aren’t at all serious, most doctors recommend starting treatment in the home. Perhaps the easiest ways to get rid of foot warts is with an over the counter remover. I doubt you’ll have any trouble finding these products. As a matter of fact, they’re probably sold in your favorite grocery store. If you have over-sized warts, then you might want to use salicylic acid products instead of the freezing products. The reason is because the freeze away products work best on little warts. It’s important to remain persistent when using these medications, as they may take over a month to work.

You may also want to try natural remedies or home remedies, but they often take even longer to work. One of the most popular home remedies for warts on feet is the duct tape method. The remedy is as simple as you might think. In fact, there are only two steps involved. First, you cut a piece of tape. Next, you cover the wart with the piece of tape. That’s all. Simply repeat these two steps as necessary.

Finally, doctors can treat warts if you’d rather not to do so yourself. There are two common procedures, which include cryosurgery and electro-surgery. Cryotherapy isn’t very painful, but highly effective. The only downside is that it may take multiple treatments. A small blister will develop as a result of freezing. What happens next is that the dead skin tissue simply sloughs off.

You can learn more about the treatments used to eliminate plantar warts on feet by talking to your physician.
